The passport will be given only on presentation of the original receipt (“quittance”).
Your passport can be returned by post mail if you provide a self-return envelop with 600 JPY stamps on it, when you apply. For all other kind of post mailing, please ask to a post office.
You can send a third party to pick up your passport. In that case, please provide with your application file a letter of attorney properly dated and signed and giving the identity of your representative. When picking up the passport, this representative will have to visit the guard post of the Embassy, from Monday to Friday 8:30 am to 18:00 pm, and present a copy of the letter of attorney, a proof of his identity and the receipt of the visa application.
